A Métis styled meat balls – delicious with Beigne’s!
5 lbs Lean Ground Beef
3 tsps. salt
1 + ½ tsps. pepper
2 + ½ cups flour
2 + ½ cups chopped onion
Mix all ingredients together and form into 2-inch balls
Roll each ball in flour
Makes 25 to 30 Boulette’s depending on the size
Balls can be frozen at this point and stored for future meals
When you decide to cook, place balls in pot sprinkle flour and salt and pepper
Bring water to a boil and pour over meat balls
Cover balls with boiling water
Bring the pot to a boil and simmer for 45 minutes to an hour – longer if they are frozen.
Serve with warm Beigne’s and ketchup for a DELICIOUS meal!
Garnish with chopped little green onions.
